Major Tourist attractions in Manali

Manail is one of the most enchanting and exhilarating tourist spot in the Northern state Himachal Pradesh. Situated on the National Highway which leads to Leh, the beauty of the landscape is quite beyond the words. River Beas is another stunningly beautiful spot of the town that flows through it. The imposing beauty of majestic snow covered mountains, free flowing streams , gorgeous deep down valleys, fruit laden orchards and serene waterfalls instill the spirit of thrill and adventure in its visitors. There are various scenic spots that you can enjoy on a sightseeing tour to Manali. Some of them as below:-

Rohtang Pass:- Situated at an elevation of 3,979 m above the sea level, Rohtang Pass is one of the key attractions of Manali. Situated at a distance of 51 km from Manali, Rohtang Pass is the only entrance to Lahaul Spiti is a major attraction among the adventure seekers mainly for the trekkers. Beas Kund, Dassaur Lake nearby Rohtang Pass are also the most visited scenic spots.

Hidimba Temple:- Hidimba Temple is one of the most important temples of Manali which is also called the Dhungri Van Vihar. Located in the middle of the forest this four story wooden temple is dedicated to Hidimba Devi. The deity image in this temple is that of a huge rock which was built in 1553. The architecture of the temple is marvelous especially the wooden doorway of the temple.

Vashist Springs:-Situated at a distance of just 3 km from the Manali, spread across the River Beads is a village named after the famous sage Vashist. The village is famous for natural sulphur springs emerging out from the rocks. It is commonly believed that the water of the springs has medicinal values and can cure different skin ailments. There is also a pair of old stone temples , dedicated to local patron saint Vashist.

Solang Valley:- Popularly known as Snow Point, Solang Valley is one of the major tourist attractions of Manali. Situated at a distance of 13 km from Manali, this scenic spot is situated at an elevation of 8,500 m above the sea level. Solan Valley is also renowned for the Ski School of Manali which is located over here. There are various ski slopes and picnic jaunts at this place. The best time to visit this scenic beauty is during the months of January and February. The visual of this picture perfect beautiful spot will surely make you awe struck.

Rahala Waterfalls:-Situated at an altitude of 2,051 m above the sea level, Rahala Waterfalls is just 13 km from Manali. It is an integral part of Himalayan Ecstasy as it is the product of melting glaciers of Himalayas. It is one of the major tourist attractions for the visitors of Manali as it offers to them the stunning visuals of the surroundings and makes it a perfect picnic spot as well.

Tibetan Monasteries:-There are plenty of Tibetan refugees at Himachal Pradesh and thus several Tibetan Monasteries have been set up in Manali. The Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa monastery,. Nyingamapa Gompa are quite famous among the travelers and features chiefly as an important pilgrim itinerary on a tour of Manali.
